This piece reminds us of the old days when the yarn paintings were not as stylized and were more about the vision rather than the symbols Peyote People has been recognized by the Huichol Traditional Government of San Andres Cohamiata for its work in the community and started a Fair Trade co-operative that promotes cultural authenticity by working with Huichol that actually live in the Sierra, because unlike the urban Huichol that live in the city, the Sierra Huichol are actively involved in the preservation of their cultures traditions.
