Welcome to Peyote People, we are a small gallery in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Peyote People has been recognized by the Huichol Traditional Government of San Andres Cohamiata for its work in the community The Wixarika (Huichol) people are internationally acclaimed for their artwork. This piece is adorned with symbology from their culture Honorio Lopez is the grandson of Jacinto Lopez Ramirez, an older Huichol shaman considered to be the grandfather of the commercial bead art. Honorio lives in Agua Zarca, the family's ranch about 2 hours from San Andres Cohamiata, the ancient Ceremonial Center deep in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Western Mexico.
